Short review of protein
Whey portein: fast digesting, good around workouts
Casein: slow digesting, post workout, bedtime, dieting
Soy protein: phytoestrogens (may be beneficial or not), may raise antioxidant status
Red meat: best source of iron, zinc, B12. Expensive can be very fatty depending on cut
Chicken: also a good source of iron, B12, zinc. Less expensive
Fish: may be more filling than other proteins (one study). Mercury issues.
Other animal proteins: tasty, pork loin is underrated and very lean
Dairy proteins: best form of calcium, improves body composition, mix of casein and whey. A great protein (makes you smooth ha ha)
Beans: farts help you out of the hole in squats. Cheap as hell.
Hemp protein: leaves a crust at the bottom of hte shaker, won't get you high
Hydrolyzed antyhing: will make you question your life choices as you gag on free form aminos
