The sanctions targeting the Central Bank of #Russia have “frozen” the country’s foreign exchange assets, most of which are held in accounts with monetary authorities and financial institutions outside of Russia. But not all of Russia’s reserve stockpile lies in foreign accounts. A sizeable portion, about $120 billion or so, sits in Russian vaults in the form of monetary #gold.
Russia is considered the fourth largest exporter of gold in the world. The precious metal represents the country's top export after energy and was worth more than €18.5 billion ($18.9 billion) in 2020.
On May 25, 2022 Reuters reported - “The United Arab Emirates has become a key trade hub for Russian gold since Western sanctions over Ukraine cut Russia's more traditional export routes, Russian customs records show.
Putin could exchange gold for cash in #unregulated shadow markets with criminal groups or other pariah regimes. He could use gold to pay for illicit weapons or other goods or services. None of this would be easy, but it is possible, and it has been done before. Perhaps most importantly, Putin has prepared for this very moment.

Ministeriön mukaan Ilomantsissa sijaitsevaa kiinteistöä olisi voinut käyttää tavalla, joka vaikeuttaa maanpuolustusta.

Aika lailla juuri näin. Uusien komponenttien saatavuus on normaali myös O&G-sektorille eli greenfieldien kanssa ei ole ongelmaa. Installed base voi olla Venäjän tapauksessa ongelma, esim. kun pitää korvata särkyneitä laitteita. Uusiin on tehty 2021-2023 koetun elektroniikkakomponenttipulan takia paljon re-designia, joten ne ei välttämättä ole alaspäin yhteensopivia. Siihen tarvitaan usein laitetoimittajan tukea, jota Venäjällä ei välttämättä ole. Tämä voi selittää noita ongelmia osaltaan. Ja tosiaan puhutaan siis laitteista, joissa on älyä sisällä.
Varastaminen on kauhean negatiivinen sana. Itse käyttäisin ilmaisua ”laajempi käsitys säästäväisyydestä”. Tässä minun taloudessa asuu muuten kaksi ääripäätä. Äärimmäinen säästäväisyys vs. äärimmäinen rahan haaskaus. Joskus asian tiimoilta tulee pieniä konflikteja. Hyvässä hengessä toki.Aina yhtä hauskoja nuo ”säästövinkit” jotka pohjautuu siihen, että varastaa.
Pari kaveria kans tosi ”säästäväisiä”, mutta kummasti sit jos itse yrittää ”säästä” ja vaikka ”lainata” heiltä jotakin niin ei saakkaan.

Täytyy muistaa kaikissa uutisissa mitä Venäjältä tulee näistä energia- ja sähkökatkoksista, lentokoneiden rikkoutumisesta jne., että suunta on vain ja ainoastaan kiihtyvästi alaspäin. Ryssä ei tule enää meidän elinaikanamme nousemaan elintasoltaan edes top 100 valtion joukkoon maailmassa. Ei ole osaamista, ei rahaa, ei poliitikkoja, joilla olisi muuta näkemystä kuin miten täyttää omat taskunsa orjakansalta verotetuilla ja varastetuilla rahoilla. Ja sekös tuppaa suomalaista hymyilyttämään

Erinomaista keskiviikkoa kaikille suomalaisille Samalla tavalla yhteistyössä kuin ennenkin olisi ollut hyvä tapa toimia venäläisten kanssa. Heti Ukrainan sodan puhjettua täyteen paskaansa oltaisiin voitu yrittää järjestää esim. rauhanneuvottelut Helsingissä. Nyt annettiin aseita Ukrainaan, joten eipä tuohon oikein vaihtoehtoa jäänytkään muuta kuin liittyä Natoon. Tulevaisuus toki näyttää oliko virhe vai ei.

The participants of the annual forum "Neurotechnologies of Russia 2023", which brought together all industry participants, expressed absolute confidence in this.
"Neurotechnologies already unite many sectors of the economy and are closely related to technological innovations. For the foreseeable future, they will affect all areas of our lives. Everyone who is associated with the NeuroNet field has this understanding.
According to Andrey Vilensky, head of the expert group of the Agency for Technological Development, right now, in the context of sanctions pressure on Russia, a window of opportunity for the development of the neuroindustry has appeared in the country.
However, despite all the challenges, the NeuroNet market in Russia is developing and expanding every year. This is due to the increased demand for industries in which neurotechnologies are applied. Among them are developments in the field of artificial intelligence. First of all, we are talking about the use of neural networks, which are already actively used in everyday life. Issues of ethics, safety and responsibility in the use of artificial intelligence were also raised within the walls of the forum.
Experts believe that the use of neural networks and AI-based solutions is something that humanity cannot escape.
"It is no coincidence that we have gathered young scientists who are working on invasive interfaces at the forum. These are the most complex, expensive and time-consuming projects in the NeuroNet area. Everything that is introduced into the human body always requires a lot of attention, resources and talent.
It should be borne in mind that neurotechnologies are very much dependent on industry and infrastructure. They often require modern servers, machine learning systems, as well as equipment for the manufacture of invasive electronics, microchips and flexible structures that can be implanted, Denis Kuleshov emphasized.
Biofeedback technologies will work in much the same way as pagers used to work. That is, we will move to 100% automatic control based on AI, but we will receive feedback using neural interfaces. The report, edited by V.A. Sadovnichy, A.A. Akaev, I.V. Ilyin, S.Y. Malkov, L.E. Grinin, and A.V. Korotaev, was prepared in 2020–2022 as part of the development program of the Interdisciplinary Scientific and Educational School of Moscow State University "Mathematical Methods for the Analysis of Complex Systems" and the implementation of a grant from the Russian Science Foundation.*
The report is timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the publication of the famous report to the Club of Rome "The Limits to Growth" (D. Meadows et al.) and summarizes the long-term scientific work of the team on the study of the dynamics of the world system.
The authors propose a new complex modeling method based on the positions of historicism and allowing forecasting on long time intervals, the testing of which has shown its effectiveness. The very title – "Rethinking the Limits of Growth" – also points to the possibility of a way out of the catastrophic situation that threatens humanity.
The results of the authors of the report (the Russian version is "Overcoming the Limits of Growth") can be interpreted as a concretization, a development of the idea of humanity's transition to the noospheric stage of human evolution, based on the latest research in a number of fields of science, primarily cybernetics, biology, and geophysics. It is this model of human evolution that makes it possible to provide concrete solutions to the global problems of humanity, which the authors do. The conclusions of the report and the proposals based on them in comparison with the conclusions of the works of the Club of Rome are distinguished by optimism, implicit in the proposed solutions to the global problems of the planet there is a belief in the triumph of human reason.
Scenarios for the development of humanity have been developed to solve key global problems. The report refutes a number of assumptions about the high probability of catastrophic scenarios of the global future and proposes long-term paths based on a model developed by Russian scientists related to the reasonable and calculated co-development of energy, economy, society, a sustainable environmental situation and the construction of a multipolar world based on the principles of a broad partnership of civilizations.
The report "Rethinking the Limits to Growth" was discussed at the meetings of the Club of Rome in 2021-2022, received the approval of full members of the Club of Rome and was published under the auspices of the Russian Association for the Promotion of the Club of Rome. The Association for the Promotion of the Club of Rome was established in the USSR in 1989. Until 2003, its president was Academician D.M. Gvishiani.
Kumma juttu miten Putin antaa näiden puuhastella "lännen" kanssa. Hauskaa myös miten sotia ei pidetä oikeana uhkana tulevaisuuden kannalta. Ihan kuin sotaleikit olisi vain sovittua pelkopornoa ja väestöllistä sodankäyntiä meille plebeille.
Maat on olevinaan sodassa, mutta todellisuudessa näiden klubien ja UN:n kautta yhteistyö on entistä tiiviimpänä.
