Interviewer: "Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor: you're involved in this battle for a long time. Did anything change from how you see Conor from the last camp, and how do you see the outcome of this fight"?
Pedro Rizzo: "Man, the way I see McGregor did not change. What has changed is Aldo's 'form'. Aldo for the other fight (UFC189) was well trained, but he was not as good as he is now. The way he is now, but I must say I prefer not saying these things because in the octagon things can be very different and many people eat their words, but from my current point of view, this fight will last at most 3 rounds. Aldo is prepared in a way I have never seen, he is very strong, and it's good there is this stricter PED control, he is tested every week, he is flying, his head (mental) is relaxed. Aldo joined my gym when he was 14: in all these years I've never seen him so well. He is 29 now, so in 15 years I've never seen him in the physical condition he is now: strong, fast, explosive, I honestly think Conor McGregor got himself a problem (he uses a slang I don't understand - I think he compared Aldo to an annoying bird). I think this fight will be fast, it won't last five rounds, it will be at most 3 rounds."
Interviewer: "Everybody is saying the fastest way is on the ground, Chad Mendes showed the path to Aldo in his fight, standing, Aldo would be at greater risk, and stand-up is your field. So, say take downs are not allowed, how do you see a stand up battle between the two? "
Pedro Rizzo: "Man, McGregor is a southpaw, every southpaw has a strong left, see Holly Holm. He has a strong straight left. But Aldo has been training for this fight for a long time, more than a year. I think if we made a kickboxing match between the two that Aldo will KO Conor. Aldo is much faster, much stronger. And these delays were good, because for an orthodox fighter to face a southpaw is very difficult, but Aldo has been preparing for a whole year to face a southpaw, so he got used to it. I even joke that after this fight, to re-adapt to fight an orthodox stance he'll have a hard time: he's very fluid against a southpaw, so I think even in a kickboxing match, Aldo would win. McGregor is a guy who came from Karate, Tae Kwon Do, has good kickboxing, throws those different kicks, but I think Aldo is really prepared. So, if the fight stays upright, it's ok, and on the ground is game over (for Conor), Chad Mendes showed us how it goes."
