Eli Ruan veljekset lähtevät Chute Boxesta. Alkaa kato käymään ehkä kaikkien aikojen legendaarisimmassa leirissä, mutta on siellä vielä onneksi muutama (mm. Werdum ja Thiago Silva) huippukin jäljellä. Toivottavasti nähdään vielä CB:n uusi tuleminen.

Apparently the promotion is looking at inviting Butterbean, Bob Sapp, and Tank Abbott to join newly minted mma sensation, Kimbo Slice, for a four man heavyweight tournament.

Joo. Mutta jos ei Kimbo olis tullut tunnetuksi katutappelijana, niin sitä luultavasti hehkutettais muidenkin kuin promoottoreiden puolesta. Voitti Mercerin ja Bas Rutten pitää pistareita eli kova jätkä siis :D Mutta itse en tiedä mitä Kimbosta ajatella, kova luu joka tapauksessa. Ja nyt kun kirjoitin, niin pakko laittaa Tankille vielä :rock:
 
UFC turns down Couture vs. Fedor

It was worth a shot.

While there was probably the preverbal snowball's chance of making it happen, resigned UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture told the Chronicle that he took a stab at arranging a co-promotion between the UFC and M-1 Global for a bout against Fedor Emelianenko.

"We got an official offer from M-1 to the UFC to do a co-promotion for the Couture-Emelianenko fight, and they (UFC) rejected that offer. Really, the only thing standing in the way for that fight right now is Dana and the UFC. Obviously, M-1 is happy to do a co-promotion like that. It only serves to help them. I think the UFC is looking at it the other way, and it's like why do we want to help out another organization? The fans want to see that fight. At some point, you have to put that first."

'Some point' won't come before Oct. 11. That's when the second of Couture's two UFC contracts - the employment agreement - expires.

'Ultimate Fighter' star pleads guilty to assault

SAN DIEGO COURTS: Jon Koppenhaver, known as “War Machine” from Spike TV's reality series “The Ultimate Fighter,” pleaded guilty yesterday to felony assault in the choking of a man outside a San Diego fitness center.

The professional cage-fighter choked a Las Vegas man unconscious and hit him in the face outside San Diego's Undisputed Fitness and Training Center on Sept. 2. Koppenhaver, 26, a trainer at the center, is scheduled to be sentenced in February.

The victim, Darren Zatkow, testified in San Diego Superior Court yesterday that he was visiting San Diego when he was assaulted outside the fitness club after calling a group of shirtless men “tough guys.”

Zatkow said he was grabbed from behind in a chokehold and lost consciousness. He was punched in the face while he was on the ground and suffered facial fractures and nerve damage.

Judge Frank Brown said Koppenhaver's plea agreement could result in misdemeanor punishment. Zatkow said that was acceptable.

“I'm not interested in destroying somebody's life,” Zatkow said. –A.M.

Noinkin lahjakas kaveri saattaa hyvinkin äkkiä löytää jonkinmoiset aseet mma kehään/häkkiin että jollekkin "nobodylle" pärjää mutta kyllähän esim. Sean Sherk, BJpeni tai vaikka Lahdesmäki tai JerryK pyyhkis Mayweatherilla perseensä. :)
 
Jossain K-1 kehissä Mayweather saattas ollakin kova luu, mutta MMA, niin ei perkele. Ja eiköhän nyrkkeilykehistä se kuitenki saa ne isoimmat tilipussit.
 
Ikävää vaan,että potkunyrkkeilyssä kun menet kumartelemaan samalla tavalla niin tulee kenkää päähän. Tosin eihän se toki siellä sitä tekisi.
 
Semmy Schilt could be on his way back to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The Dutch giant recently clocked up another K-1 title and has hinted he is looking to a return to MMA. In an interview with FightHype.com, Schilt was asked what the chances were of a fight between him and Tim Sylvia. Schilt replied: “My manager and K-1 are trying to work out a deal with the UFC to make this fight (against Sylvia) happen. I am ready to get back into the Octagon.”
 
Semmy Schiltin ongelma UFC:ssä on tietenkin se, että jannu on liian painava jopa raskaaseen sarjaan (yli 130kg, kun yläraja on 120kg). Tämä siis sulkee käytännössä Semmyn ulos UFC mestaruusotteluista.
Menisi ennemmin vaikka Cage Rageen, jossa ei ole painoylärajaa raskaimmassa sarjassa...
