Ensin vaihtui Motor Cityn kisa Powerhouse Pro -nimelle, ja nyt se sitten peruutettiin kokonaan. Eli ei elokuussa Powerhouse Detroit Pro Figurea, joka siis aiemmin tunnettiin joka vuotisena Motor City Prona.

Dena Westerfieldin aatoksia hänen blogissaan kaksi päivää ennen NY kisaa:

Well the time has come to shine. It is Wednesday evening, I have 2 coats of color on and my packing is about finished. Wendi will come over 2 more times tomorrow to apply more color to my body. Thursday is my last day; I have to get to bed early and leave the house by 4:30 am on Friday. Joel will pick me up from the airport, and Beth Roberts will be my "bag bitch" meaning she is there to help with whatever I need, color, food prep, etc. I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a great time.

I must say that this is definitely the best I have looked. I'm full, ripped and heavy. I've been working on my presentation hard for the past 5 weeks. I plan to bring a package that you can't take your eyes off. That's my goal!!!

Seuraava kisa sitten vasta heinäkuun alussa, Houston Pro, jossa sekä Figure että Fitness.

Mukana figuressa ainakin Amy Peters, Darlina Brown, Felicia Romero, Krissy Chin, Jeni Briscoe(Kanadan nationalsseista sai aikoinaan ammattilaiskortin, nyt prodebyytti), Jane Awad, Andrea Dumon.... Fitnessin puolella debytoi Kristina Rojas, joka sai ammattilaisuuden viime syksyn nationalsseista. Samoin figuren puolella viihtynyt Shannon Meteraud on ilmoittanut vaihtavansa fitnessiin!

...Mä en saa vaan jotenkin mielestäni tätä tapausta :itku: Monta päivää jo mennyt niin että vähän väliä iskee mieleen mitä on tapahtunut. Amanda teki muhun suuren vaikutuksen vuonna 2005 kun aloin tiiviimmin seuraamaan USA:n kisoja. Asuessani Arizonassa lähetin hänelle sähköpostia ja kysyin apua ensimmäisten asujeni kanssa (ajattelin hankkivani asuni samalta ompelijalta). Hän vastasi minulle hyvin henkilökohtaisella viestillä. Myöhemmin sain häneltä vielä sähköpostia hänen aloitteestaan kun hän kysyi, olisinko kiinnostunut ostamaan hänen asunsa. Olin jotenkin tosi yllättynyt miten joku tuon tason kilpailija voi edes muistaa että joku fani on laittanut hänelle mailia. Myöhemmin kirjoitimme vielä muutamia sähköposteja ja tapasin hänet Olympiassa 2006. Kaikista nettijuoruista huolimatta minulle jäi hänestä tosi miellyttävä kuva.

Paola Almerico päätti kans pistää figuremonot jalkaan viime hetkellä ja on näin myös mukana kisassa, samoin kuin Jr Usaseiden over allin voittanut ja samalla prostatuksen haalinut Lenay Hernandez lykkääntyi mukaan tekemään ammattilaisdebyyttiään.

Pari sanaa viime öisestä alkukilpailusta.

Kuuden sakissa näyttävät olevan Californian voittaja Felicia Romero, Heather Mae French, viime hetkillä kisaan mukaan tullut Paola Almerico, Houng Arcinas, Jelena Abbou ja Jr Usaseiden voittaja Lenay Hernandez. Paljon löllöjä tyttöjä taas mukana. Jodie Brucen kommentti: "I hate the soft look. Lots and lots of soft soft butts.

Team Bodysportin kommentit figuren alkukisan jälkeen:

This contest promised to be a tough one and this lineup of professionals didn’t disappoint. In the first callout Heather May-French made a strong showing just as she has all season long this year. Heather has added that extra one percent to her overall look this year polishing up some fine details and those changes have turned her into a top contender in every show she has competed in this season. Taking an informal survey after the show, everyone I spoke to had her in first place but the judges have a much better view and more critical eye so we will see tomorrow if they agree.Huong Arcinas softened up a little since her impressive showing at the Cal State pro figure show a few weeks back just as the judges suggested she should. I like her for top 3 for sure and would be happy with her in second place. Huong has incredible genetics and has done a masterful job of balancing her upper and lower body over the past year. Lenay Hernandez won the overall title in Charleston this year earning her pro card. This is her pro debut and the kid is knocking the knees out from under some very impressive veteran figure pros today. She looks to be the next best thing, the top of the pack so far this season coming into the pro ranks.Jelena Abbou has for the first time in her entire figure career managed to balance her upper body and lower body conditioning and she looks out of this world. She is beautiful and now she has a very competitive professional figure physique so we will see what the judges do with her but it was a pleasure to finally see what all of her fans have been dying to see from her since she turned pro.

Probably the most improved athlete in the lineup was Jane Awad who has always had an outstanding lower body but lacked shoulder development specifically and general upper body muscularity. She recently started working with a new trainer and the results speak for themselves as she now has an upper body equally impressive as her legendary lower body. She ended up in the second group in callouts but despite how she finishes this show, this was certainly the best this long-time veteran Canadian figure pro has ever looked.
Felicia Romero is coming off a win at the California State pro figure show and has made some improvements for this show that may well move her into the first place spot and that is the feeling up front is that she could well win again here in Texas.Predicting a winner in this show is unusually impossible because most of the athletes in the first callout are at their very best so its going to come down to which physique the judging panel prefers but regardless who they name as the top 3 I don’t see any reason for complaints.

Paola Almerico decided to enter this show two days ago because she was in great shape after training and dieting for a couple photo shoots so she said what the heck and entered with the blessing of show promoter Lee Thompson. While Almerico was not at her all time best she was certainly more than good enough to challenge for a top spot in this very tough lineup.Figure Finals start tomorrow at 4pm Texas time. Pro Fitness judging begins tomorrow morning at 8am.
