Kun naisten proympyrät ovat tältä vuodelta jo ohitse, voi valtaisalla innostuksella suunnata katseita jo ensi vuoteen Vuoden ensimmäisenä ja suurena tietenkin Arnold Classic..


Ms Internationalissa nähdään Europa Super Showssa LW:t voittanut Mah Ann Mendoza, joka ilmoitti päätöksestään viikonloppuna..

Cathy LeFrancois added to the Ms International lineup

When the first official list came out for the Ms. International lineup, Cathy’s name was not on it, and it puzzled a lot of people. Well, I am happy to say, after talking to Lonnie Teper, that Cathy LeFrancois’ name was added to the lineup and she will be competing in the Ms. International! Congrats!

This is going to be a GREAT lineup with Cathy, Kristy and the rest of the crew!

Yep, what a lineup with old champions and big names + all those "new comers" in Arnold Kristy, Debi and Mah-Ann. I loved Kristy in nationals so it will be interesting to see how she will do in big show. Was so happy that Cathy was added, she did such a impressive comeback to bodybuilding. ..but still cannot understand why Amanda Savell is not in figure line up!

When the Arnold competitor lists were published the buzz in the figure world is where was Amanda Jo Savell and where will she compete next. I don’t know who is on the Arnold committee but they voted note to invite Amanda to the show. So now the question everyone keeps asking is, where will Amanda Jo compete next? Amanda’s first show of the year will be the Jacksonville Pro Figure. AJ will then look to reclaim the Europa Figure title for a record third time. The plan is to then make the trip to the Big Apple where she will compete in the New York Pro Figure. If she qualifies for the Olympia we’ll see her back on stage in Las Vegas for the Figure Olympia.

What about Mary Elizabeth Lado? Well, kids you will see her doing a similar run as Amanda Jo. Mary plans to compete the three August figure contests. She’ll begin with the Jacksonville Pro, then the Motor City Pro Figure and end the run at the Europa Super show. This will be Mary’s first time competing in all of these shows and hopes to qualify for the Figure Olympia. If Mary qualifies she’ll return to the Figure Olympia stage where she hopes to find herself in the top five, where she once reigned.


Another 2007 Figure Olympia competitor looking to qualify for the big dance this year is Felicia Romero. The California Pro Figure will be her 2008 debut and plans to follow it up with a trip to the Houston Pro Figure. Depending on how she places there will determine if she competes in any other shows.

Ja hieman muutoksia tämän vuoden figure kalenteriin, eli aiemmin Motor City pro figurena tunnettu kisa saa uuden päivän (aluksi kaavailtu 2.8) ja uuden nimen. Eli kisa tänä vuonna IFBB Powerhouse Pro Figure Classic ja uusi päivämäärä 9.8.2008.

Ei niin hirmu riemukkaita uutisia..

Mah Ann Mendoza jättäytyi pois Ms International leikistä jo tässä vaiheessa. Hänen valmentajansa Noel Fullerin mukaan syynä on loukkaantuminen, ja nyt tähtäin on siirretty Europa Super Showhon.

Eilen ilmoitettiin, että All Star Pro Fitness jää pois tämän vuoden kisakalenterista. Asiasta lisää by Rick Lohre löytyy Hardbodylla.

Oksana Grishina updatea Hardbody.comissa. Samoin Natalie Bensonin kuulumisia 6 viikkoa ennen Figure Internationalia Hardbodyssa.


Oksana aiheutti paljon puhettaan viime syksynä poikkeavalla vapaaohjelmallaan. Nyt on luvassa siis uutta vaparia, mielenkiintoinen nähdä..

Ei ole tuosta kohun aiheuttaneesta Europa Super Shown vaparista.. Mutta se on oikeastaan ihan paria kohtaa lukuunottamatta sama kuin Olympiassa, se alla. Wau, menee kyllä ihan kylmät väreet, uskomaton esitys. Keskustelua herätti nimenomaan se, että Oksanan vapari oli niin paljon erilainen, mitä proskenessä yleensä nähty volttisarjoineen ja muine huimine temppuineen valtaisalla tahdilla. Taustoja vasten todella mielenkiintoista, minkälaisen performanssin Oksana kehittää tälle vuodelle, sillä taitoa kyllä riittää niin liikkeiden, koreografian kuin esittämisenkin puolelta.

Oksana palkittiin Europassa parhaasta vaparista (ei tosin tuomareiden arvostusten pohjalta..). Europassa Oksana ei sijoittunut, mutta viikkoa myöhemmin Arkansas Pro fitnesissä oli kolmas Tanji Johnsonin voittaessa ja näin lunasti paikan Olympiaan. Olympiassa hän oli seitsemäs.

Ihastuin tohon Oksanan esitykseen tosi paljon. Se oli niin täynnä tunnetta ja eläytymistä, Oksana teki lihaksikkaasta kropastaan ihan uskomattoman sorjan ja kevyen ja hennon, semmosen mitä odottaa näkevänsä baletissa. Todella koskettava esitys, ja parasta mitä oon nähny pitkään aikaan. Ehkä juuri erilaisuutensa vuoksi. Uskallusta tehdä jotain muuta kuin vauhtia ja vaaratilanteita. Loistava tulkinta Oksanalla, ei voi muuta sanoa. Haluan nähdä häneltä ehdottomasti muitakin esityksiä!

...sen sijaan, näkisin mielelläni suht korkealla Julie Lohren ja Oksana Grishinan. Toivottavasti Oksana on parantanut esiintymistään ja poseeraamistaan ja saanut hommattua paremmin natsaavat asut..

VALERIE WAUGAMAN OUT OF FIGURE INTERNATIONAL


Take a trip over to the Arnold Classic web site and you will see Valerie Waugaman’s name is no longer on the Figure International list. It’s been confirmed that Valerie Waugaman is in fact out of this year’s show. The details behind her withdrawal from the show have not been confirmed as of yet. Once we have a chance to confirm with Val on her condition and reasons for withdrawing, we’ll report back.

Many considered Valerie a favorite for the Figure National title and most definitely a lock for a top 6 spot.

O ou... Myös Monica Brantin nimi on poistettu tuolta Arnold Classicin webbisaitilta. Tarkoittaako tämä sitä, että Monica on myös poissa Figure Internationalista? Tämä tosin vasta huhu asteella..


Monica 2006 vuoden Arnoldissa.. viime vuonnahan Monica jätti myös Figure I:n väliin..

Jep jep, ja myös Valerielta on tullut selitys minkä vuoksi hän ei osallistu tänä vuonna Arnoldiin (lähde: Hardbody.com):

"The reason I am not doing the Arnold is because I really needed the recovery time between Gladiator seasons one and two. There are no particular “acute” injuries, nothing torn, broken, etc… Just wear and tear, especially on the upper body joints, from doing a lot of physical stuff in a short period of time. I kind of relate it to how a football player might feel at the end of a season. This was a very difficult decision and I waited until the very last possible moment to make the decision. I’m really going to miss competing in the Figure International this year - it’s such a wonderful show and it’s in my backyard. I’m definitely not done with competing. I’m hungry for a title and plan on competing more in the future. After consulting with my physical therapist and realizing that I wouldn’t be able to train the way I’d need to train to bring the best Valerie Waugaman to the Arnold stage, I decided that it would be best to continue to recover and get back to 100%. I’m really excited about seeing everyone in Columbus, as I’ll be there working various booths, watching the competition and supporting the other athletes. I’m very proud of my background with the IFBB and continue to talk about that in each interview I do for the Gladiators. Positive mojo! See you in Columbus!"

En osaa jotenkin harmitella asiaa, koska uskon että Valerie tulee takaisin sitten kun aika on sopiva. Eiköhän tuollaisessa tilanteessa joudu väkisinkin priorisoimaan asioita... ja kukapa jenkki ei priorisoisi sitä, jos saa esiintyä national tv:ssä! ;) Onhan siellä kuitenkin monta sataa miljoonaa potentiaalista katsojaa joihin pystyt vaikuttamaan omalla esimerkilläsi. Veikkaisinpa että ei ainakaan Val:n Octane Cafella mene huonosti tuon shown jälkeen...
