Martians, what is up! We knocked out Pittsburgh and now I’m 20 days out from the Olympia, counting every minute and making them count. Today we hit a field-trip leg day at Roman Empire Gym (League City, TX), one of Houston’s best, to run through new-to-us pieces and smash a true quad-focused session with Brett “The Butcher” Wilkin.

We walked the floor with George Roman (owner) and then got after it. Energy’s low but the standard is high; top sets, controlled failure, and smart adjustments this close to show day.

It’s our last hamstring day together in Texas before we head to Vegas, so Brett and I pushed it hard and kept the session exactly how we’ve been running it all prep: same machines, same targets, beat the logbook and keep it clean.

▪️Adductors to prime hips/groin (Hammer Strength—why it’s my #2 behind Prime and how foot angle changes what you hit)
▪️Single-leg standing curl (Icarian) — unilateral sequencing so each side gets the same effort
▪️Lying leg curl (Cybex) — why Brett uses partials and why I avoid them (old hamstring fiber tweak)
▪️Seated curl (Flex “Ham Tractor”) — heavy squeeze work + partner-assisted reps and controlled negatives
▪️Nautilus Explode leg press — ham/glute emphasis (knee over ankle, hips “scooped” under) + a nasty pump set
▪️Arsenal Good Morning — hinge for glutes without cooking the low back

It’s Sunday, Sept 28 — 12 days out and we fly to Las Vegas in ~36 hours.

Today’s a rest day (coach’s orders), so I’m taking you through exactly how we pack and travel for a 10–13 day show trip:
▪️Food plan & buffer days: pre-cook, vacuum seal, freeze, and fly with 1–2 days of meals before we hit Sam’s Club
▪️Supplements & shipments: what we mail straight to the Airbnb (protein, glutamine, pump, Cream of Rice) so our bags don’t explode
▪️Hydration & salt protocol: why we pushed water to ~5L/day and salt to 8–10g, and the salt-in-water hack that fixed my pumps
▪️Packing system: Alexis’s itemized shared Notes checklist (chargers, tan, stage kit, addresses, schedule, arrivals)
▪️Dogs on the road: why we bring Bonnie & Calie (service dog papers, stress relief, routine, morale)
▪️Mindset: brotherhood with Brett, expectations for Vegas, and keeping life normal on rest Sundays (football + family)

Today I’m taking you through a full day of prep: my low-carb meals, a much-needed massage session, and then some training with Boss. Recovery is the main focus right now as we open things up, manage fatigue, and fine-tune every detail heading into the big day.

We also checked out the brand new New Tech Gym in Vegas — honestly one of the best gyms in the country, with everything from old-school Nautilus and Cybex to the latest innovations.
