Brazilian lightweight Marcus Aurelio has been offered a four-fight deal with the UFC, according to an American Top Team representative. A longtime fan of the organization, Aurelio is expected to sign on shortly.

Aurelio, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with a professional record of 14-4, adds immediate depth to the UFC’s 155-pound division. Perhaps best known for his submission victory over PRIDE lightweight champion Takanori Gomi at PRIDE “Bushido 10,” the 23-year-old is viewed as an immediate threat to UFC lightweight title holder Sean Sherk.

The black belt from BTT Paulão Filho guaranteed that he is close to do a deal with the event WEC, World Extreme Challenge, which is leaded by UFC. “I am making the deal with the WEC organization. I will close three or four bouts with the event, a parallel one of the UFC. I am pretty glad”, said Paulão, who is training hard with Josuel Distak for two months.
Paulão said that will also probably fight until July, but for that he needs to get the weight. “I have to get the weight until July so I will be able to fight. I am 95kg, but I am only doing the technician training, when I will be doing the physical training and take care of the foods I will get the right weight”, said Paulão.

Coming off of an impressive win over Jason Ireland at Pride 33 in Las Vegas this past February, Joachim Hansen was excited to participate in the Pride Lightweight Grand Prix planned to begin in May. Now the Norwegian fighter is left wondering when his next fight will even take place.

With four fights left on his Pride contract, Hansen is one of the many fighters whose careers are currently in limbo as Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta sort out the details of their recent purchase of the Pride organization.

According to Hansen, “Not much is happening. I’m just training and waiting for some phone call that I got a fight. It’s confusing and boring to train really without a purpose.”

In an interview with MMAWeekly’s Lee Whitehead, Hansen – the #7 ranked lightweight fighter in the world – said his frustrations would be put to good use if he doesn’t soon hear about his next fight. “If I don’t hear anything about MMA fights, I’m going to keep focused by doing amateur boxing [in Norway].” Norway’s amateur boxing season doesn’t begin until September, so if that becomes Hansen’s route to keeping ring rust at bay, it is surely not a good indication for the future of the Pride promotion.

Currently, Hansen still hasn’t been given a direction for his future. “I’m not hearing anything now,” he said. “I’m just gonna stay in shape and wait for something to happen. The best thing to do is to float and stay in good basic shape.”

Chuck Liddell has confirmed in an interview with the Boston Times that his next UFC fight will be against the one and only Wanderlei Silva. UFC president, Dana White, has been trying to set this fight up for quite some time, and with PRIDE now looking to be a subsidary for UFC, can finally do so. Liddell told the newspaper, "It’s going to be a striking battle. Who’s going to hit harder and throw more punches. I think from the things I’ve seen (of him) that’s what it will be."

Vahva huhumylly pyörii nyt myös Sakurain ja Sanchezin ympärillä joiden veikkaillaan ottelevan UFC 74:ssä.

Mach on kyllä ehdottomia lempiottelijoitani ja vähän harmittaakin että ottelee welterweightinä eikä lightweightinä. Sanchez on tyyliltään vähän huono vastustaja Sakuraille, mutta hienoa olisi jos Mach pystyis hoitamaan tämän en tosin löisi vetoa sen puolesta :(.

On the possibility of the Quinton Jackson-Dan Henderson fight being a unification fight:
"No. What we’re doing with that thing is we’re respecting both (the UFC and PRIDE) titles. The UFC title is the UFC champion and we’re respecting Dan as the PRIDE champion. Quinton will walk out with his belt if Dan wins and vice versa.

Totta ettei ole, mutta ei ole omasta mielestä Nakamurakaan sen erikoisempi vaikka sen listasin ja silti eihän se taso siitä huonone ollenkaan jos heidätkin mukaan karkeloihin saataisiin.
