"Not even a week ago, we mentioned an awesome concept pitch from an Irish filmmaker called The Leviathan that had gone viral. Yesterday, two very familiar Hollywood names, both with serious sci-fi bona fides, have confirmed attachment to the project.

Joining the producing ranks is Simon Kinberg, who has a toe dipped in both the X-Men and Star Wars franchises, amongst many other properties. He’s joined by Neill Blomkamp, who introduced himself with 2009’s District 9, and just released Chappie this month. Kinberg is consulting on the new Star Wars movies, and Blomkamp has signed on to tackle a new installment of the Alien franchise, so Leviathan creator Ruairí (for us Americans, that’s pronounced Rory) Robinson would be hard-pressed to find two better people to bounce ideas off of when it comes to interstellar content."

The Leviathan Feature Film Officially In the Works at 20th Century Fox

Ruairi Robinson's proof-of-concept teaser for The Leviathan shocked and awed millions of people who played it on their computer screens, so imagine the jaw-dropping look the feature film adaptation will have on the big screen now that 20th Century Fox has picked up the Simon Kinberg and Neill Blomkamp-produced project.

Variety reports that 20th Century Fox has picked up the pitch to make a feature film adaptation of Ruairi Robinson's The Leviathan. The news comes less than a week after it was revealed that Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) would produce and Blomkamp (Chappie, upcoming Alien film) would executive produce a feature film version of the three-plus minute video that featured dazzling digital effects and a colossal creature soaring through a cloud-shrouded sky. The move makes sense, as Kinberg has a first-look deal with 20th Century Fox and Blomkamp is currently set to scribe and helm a new Alien film for the studio.

The Leviathan feature film will be directed by Ruairi Robinson (The Last Days on Mars) from a screenplay by Jim Uhls (Fight Club).

Traileria ei ole vielä ilmeisesti tullut, ainoastaan joitain kuvia Azerothin paikoista. Julkaisupäivänä 11.3.2016. Alunperin tämän piti tulla jo tänä vuonna, mutta siirrettiin vuodella eteenpäin. Itse odotan todella kovasti tätä ja toivottavasti tekisivät trilogian WC3:seen asti. Näyttelijäkaarti on ainakin omaan mieleeni kova, Anduin Lotharia näyttelee Travis Fimmel, Garonaa Paula Patton ja Medivhiä Ben Foster. Nyt sitä traileria kehiin jo prkl!
