Internazionale have hit back at claims that Cagliari striker David Suazo has joined rivals Milan at the last minute.
The 27-year-old had looked set for Serie A champions Inter, however Milan said on Tuesday that they had secured his services overnight.
Inter have now stated that although Cagliari had agreed a new deal with Milan, the player had himself signed for them.
"With us there was complete agreement," Inter president Massimo Moratti told the club's website.
"This has been an amazing change of will. Anyway the player has signed for us so we will see."
"The player signed for us. I've been astonished by (Cagliari president) Massimo Cellino's behaviour. There are no reasons for this because there was already an agreement that considered everything and the player signed for us", Moratti told Italian press.
"Usually what it values is the player's will and this would have to be important. Milan's behaviour ? There are not many justifications."
Milan have insisted that the deal was not done to cause trouble with their city rivals.
"There has been no intention to spite Inter," Milan vice president Adriano Galliani told the club's website.
"We followed Suazo even last year. (Cagliari president Massimo) Cellino said that negotiations with Inter were over therefore we started and concluded new talks."

Adriano Galliani has confirmed that all what is lacking in bringing David Suazo to the club is the player's signature as an agreement has been reached with Cagliari
Adriano Galliani has been clearing up the situation surrounding the arrival of David Suazo. He said: 'What happened was that I had dinner with Cagliari president Massimo Cellino. David, who we followed last year, came up and Cellino told me that negotiations with Inter were over. So we talked and reached an agreement. I am not joking, these negotiations were not disrepectful to anyone. It was nothing to do with what happened with Inter last year. Revenge is only on the pitch. The transfer market does not count. The competitions are won in May, not June, July or September.
'There is an agreement between the clubs and all that is missing is the player's signature. Suazo is on vacation. Let's see, but there is a signature with Cagliari. Silvio Berlusconi also spoke with Cellino, and is pleased with the choice.
'I will not call Inter as they did not call me about Ibrahimovic. Cagliari's president said the negotiations with Inter were over, I had no reason not to believe him. So, we started a new conclusion on a agreement. The relationship with Moratti and his club is excellent.
'The problem with bringing Eto'o is fiscal. The gross in Spain is 50% more. If Suazo signs then our transfer market could be over here. We will have four great strikers in our squad. Gila will stay as will all the other stars. Gila like Kakà and the others are incredible. We are champions of Europe and we want to stay like that, with Ronaldo fully fit and with Suazo as well.
'As for Sheva to Inter, I cover Milan's transfers and I am only concerned with Milan.'
As for comments made by Massimo Moratti, Galliani told journalists on leaving a Football League meeting: 'I have nothing to say. You can work it all out with your own heads.'
