Nyt kun levyn on kuunnelut useamman kerran läpi niin täytyy sanoa, että täydet :5: . SoaD parantaa menoa kyllä levy levyltä ja Daeon Malakian ääni sopii ihan perkeleen hyvin biiseihin, onneksi hän on saanut lisää vastuuta laulamisessa. :rock:

Vielä kun julkaisisivat DVD:n niin olis aika bueno!

Tästä aiheesta oli juttua raadiossa viime viikolla. Syynä keikkapalkkioiden huimaan kasvuun on suuryritysten bändeihin sijoittamat rahat, jotka on toki saatava yrityksille takaisin ja mielellään moninkertaisena. Provinssirockin toimitusjohtaja sanoi, että jos tätä tahtia nousee palkkiot, niin ei Suomessa enää hirveesti megabändejä nähdä, koska ei yksinkertaisesti ole resursseja.
Harmillista kun tämäkin ala on niin läpi kaupallistunut, ettei enää oikein näe rajaa itse musiikin ja busineksen välillä.
 
Toxicityltä chop suey on yks ykkösbiiseistä ever. :rock:
 
Onhan tuo takuuvarmaa soad:ia. Hienovaraisesti musiikki muuttuu, mutta vähän kerrallaan. Edelleen silti kuultavissa selkeästi samoja elementtejä kuin ekalla levyllä. Selvästi ei hakemalla haeta uusia tuulia vaan annetaan niiden tulla luonnostaan, ilman pakonomaista vääntöä. Sopii bändin repertuaariin hienosti. Varmasti 5 vuoden päästä kavereiden musa on jo paljoltikin erilaista, mutta on hyvä että antavat musalle tilaa hengittää ja kasvaa ajan mukana. Kyllä äijät on jo ihan kunnon muusikoita, ei siitä mihinkään pääse. Samaa nyt ei aina voi useista tunnetuistakaan rock-tähdistä sanoa. Saas nähdä mitä levyn 'toka' osa tuo tullessaan...
 
On kyllä vitun hyvä levy, sopivan melodista ja tarpeeksi mättöäkin toisaalta riittää. Soi taustalla just nyt :rock:

No perskele, kovaltahan tuo taas kullostaa ja taitaa olla levy ostoslistalla. Tässähän onkin nyt sit levyjä ostettavana, kun Viikatteelta tuli uusi, samoin Sentencediltä ja nyt tämä.

First Week's Worldwide Sales Top 800,000

System of a Down has done it again. The band's fourth album, "Mezmerize"
(American Recordings/Columbia Records), enters the Billboard/SoundScan chart in the Number One position, as did their CD "Toxicity" when it was released in September, 2001. Since the release of "Mezmerize" last Tuesday, May 17, the CD has scanned an astounding 453,000 copies domestically. "Mezmerize" is the first disc in a 2-disc set with disc two, "Hypnotize," expected out late this fall. "Mezmerize/Hypnotize" was produced by Rick Rubin and System's Daron Malakian.

"Mezmerize" also came in at #1 on numerous music charts around the world including those in Germany, Canada, Austria, France, Sweden, Japan, Switzerland, Colombia, Greece, Brazil, and New Zealand, bringing the first week's worldwide sales in excess of 800,000 copies.

"B.Y.O.B.," the first single from "Mezmerize," is a Top 5 track at radio, and the companion promo video has been in high rotation at MTV, MTV2 and the Fuse Network for weeks.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN have selected "Question!" as the second single off their latest CD, "Mezmerize".

According to MTV.com, there's no word yet on "Question!" video plans or whether SYSTEM will release a third single from "Mezmerize" or wait until the album's second part, "Hypnotize", hits stores in late fall.

Although fans have to wait for it, "Hypnotize" is recorded, mastered and ready for release. Guitarist/singer Daron Malakian recently sequenced the songs himself, which like "Mezmerize", he said was the hardest part.

"I try to think about it like if I was either mixing this for some friends to listen to and they will never hear it again or what's going to keep people interested and what's going to keep me interested," he said. "Sometimes it works to have a song that ends on a certain note and then go into another song that begins with a similar note, but at the end of the day, it's just about flow.

"Think about records that you listen to, and say that band put their best song towards the end or something," he added. "I think you want to get a good impression right off the bat, but you also want it to flow. You don't want to listen to two songs and say, 'I don't like it.' That's why sequence is so important."

Hahaa... meitsi ties ton jo jotenkin selkäpiissä että Question! tulee oleen seuraava sinkku. En epäillyt sitä hetkeäkään. Olin siitä satavarma heti kun sen kuulin.

Edellisiä levyjä en ole kuullut kuin satunnaisesti (Pitänee tässä tutustua niihinkin tarkemmin). Tämän levyn kun sai käsiin, niin on soinut kyllä aika ahkerasti. Vaikea tästä on parantaa tämän vuoden puolella tulevaan Hypnotize levyyn, mutta eiköhän sekin rokkaa ihan kybällä!
 
Ihan hemmetin hyvä levy toi Mesmerize! :rock: On tullu kuunneltuu pirun monta kertaa levy ja rokkaa edelleen kovasti! Aivan uskomatonta, että ovat saaneet tehtyä niin hyvän levyn kokonaisuudessaan. Kaikki kappaleet ovat todella hyvin lukuun ottamatta "Lost In Hollywood", jota en voi sietää mitenkään päin. :jahas:
