A brand new SEVENDUST song, entitled "Prodigal Son", is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The track comes off SEVENDUST's seventh studio album, "Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow", which is due on April 1. The CD was produced by Sean Groove, Morgan Rose and John Connolly at Tree Sounds Studios in Atlanta, Georgia and will mark SEVENDUST's second release through the band's wholly owned record label, 7Bros. Records under Warner Music Group. The disc features guest appearances by singer Chris Daughtry, ALTER BRIDGE frontman Myles Kennedy and ALTER BRIDGE guitarist Mark Tremonti.

SEVENDUST is forming its tour plans to support the arrival of "Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow". The group will travel to Australia in mid-March to open three shows for OZZY OSBOURNE, before coming home to the U.S. for a spring headlining run of its own. After that is the summer's inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour, which will team SEVENDUST up with groups like DISTURBED and SLIPKNOT. Drummer Morgan Rose told The Pulse of Radio that he's looking forward to Mayhem's first run. "It's the guys, you know, that put together the Warped Tour, so it's way laid back," he said. "You know, we've done the Ozzfest and we've done the Warped Tour and we've done Tattoo the Earth, so it should be interesting. You know, we go way back with SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED, you know, we've got a whole bunch of our old posse out there that's gonna be a lot of fun."
SEVENDUST will open for Ozzy on March 15 in Melbourne, March 18 in Sydney and March 20 in Brisbane.
The Mayhem tour is tentatively set to kick off on July 9 in Seattle and will hit 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up in late August. Other acts on the bill include DRAGONFORCE, MASTODON, AIRBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and MACHINE HEAD.
