Chris Barnes lopettaa työskentelyn Torture Killerin kanssa
Legendary death metal vocalist Chris Barnes (SIX FEET UNDER, ex-CANNIBAL CORPSE) has officially parted ways with the Finnish death metal band TORTURE KILLER.
"I am no longer involved with, or a member of, the band TORTURE KILLER," says Barnes in a statement. "The split is mutual; it was just time for me to move forward. I wish the band well in all future plans and musical endeavors."
TORTURE KILLER has scheduled a string of Europen tour dates featuring Juri Sallinen on vocals. "Sallinen appeared on our 2005 split 7" (Woodcut Records) and has helped us doing random live shows in our home country since 2004 so for us things are like they've been for years now and together we've molded into a properly working live band which we now want to represent to audiences," the group said in a statement.

Deathchainin pitkäaikainen kitaristi Bobby Undertaker jättää Deathchain. Bändi on kasvamassa harrastustoiminnasta kokoajan isommaksi mikä vaatii enemmän ja enemmän ulkomailla kiertämistä ja tämä ei Bobbyn tämän hetken elämän tilanteeseen sovi.

hmm Mayhemin uusin levy palkittiin Norjan ''emma gaalassa'' Sama juttu Dimmun video the serpentine offering.Samalla Hellhammer ja Necrobutcher olivat kertoneet Ordo ad chaon jäävän ehkäpä Mayhemin viimeiseksi ,mutta lohdutuksena ''Tai sitten seuraava levy voi ilmestyä 2-3 v kuluttua .

Bändi siirtyy studioon toukokuussa, “Death Eternal” työnimellä kulkeva albumi julkaistaan lokakuun alussa. Deathchain on soittanut yli 100 keikkaa Euroopassa.
Bändi on tunnettu raivokkaista esiintymisistään, sekä järkkymättömästä asenteestaan kohti metallia.

BAPTISM "Grim Arts of Melancholy" CD (12,-)
BAPTISM is known as one of the most reliable Finnish black metal acts with it's instantly recognizable, yet deeply traditional, sort of puritanical "Eliterian" musical worship and esotericism. Referencing both older metal and a newly awakened purpose for a more extreme form of Luciferian art, BAPTISM's work is always more than mere music - it's a theistic black metal ceremony. As it is, "Grim Arts of Melancholy" stands as a natural continuation of the work BAPTISM initiated in the 90's. Sargofagian's articulated vocals unveil mysteries of a blackest nature in the foreground of a deeply darkened, almost insane, mostly mid-paced riffscape, which seems this time to have kept to a minimum the use of beautiful counterpointing of melodies. Old-school thrashing parts are captured amidst songs in their flight across godless depths, yet return to obscurity as soon as the listener is awakened from the morbid trance of a mid-paced minor key hammering. For most of the time the whole album sounds like one single extended ceremonial track dedicated to Azazel or some other force whose name is unknown to mankind. It achieves this atmosphere without using standard tricks such as extremely lo-fi production; in fact, this one probably has the clearest and most dynamic production BAPTISM ever had. It serves it's purpose here to highlight the nature of the album as a sort of anti-symphony, a prayer, a clear vision of doom. The messages of BAPTISM's "Grim Arts" are serious prophecies, not entertaining background music!

This is the second and last logical step in our decision to make all Deathspell Omega material available and, at the same time, out of reach of disrespectful bootleggers or speculators. Interested parties can now investigate all aspects of the band's discography from official sources.
NH-055 Deathspell Omega "Manifestations 2000-2001" CD
It has been in the works for years, but here is finally the official CD version of the early Deathspell Omega material that was available on vinyl only as of today. It gathers the songs included on the splits with Moonblood, Mütiilation and the Black Metal Blitzkrieg V/A LP : by far the most primitive material of all and in all aspects, pure underground Black Metal. No unreleased songs : if you own the vinyls, this is of little relevance for you!
NH-056 Deathspell Omega "Manifestations 2002" CD
This contains the last and most intense manifestations of the first era of the band, 8 unreleased songs, initially intended to be featured on the Crushing the Holy Trinity V/A and on a cancelled split with defunct Cantus Bestiae. Harsh and in the style of a more frantic "Inquisitors of Satan", some of these ideas have developed to sketches for later recordings. LP version coming later.

Turisas MTV3:n 45 Minuuttia -Ohjelmassa keskiviikkona 20.2.
Folk- ja viikinkimetallia soittava TURISAS on viime aikojen mielenkiintoisin metalli-ilmiö. Viulun sekä harmonikan käytöstä musiikissaan, soturihenkeä huokuvista esiintymisasuistaan että rankasta livemeiningistään tunnettu ryhmä on saavuttanut käsittämättömän suuren suosion Euroopassa, jossa se on esiintynyt isojen festivaalien päälavoilla ja koristanut musiikkilehtien kansia. Nyt Suomen media on tarttunut tähän kotimaiseen vientimenestykseen. MTV3 oli mukana viikonloppuna Finnish Metal Expossa, jossa se haastatteli bändin viulustia Olli Vänskää ja laulajaa Mathias Nygårdia sekä kuvasi bändin valmistautumista keikkaan, tunnelmia nimmarisessiosta ja intensiivisen live-shown. Tämä paketti tulee ulos MTV3:n 45 Minuuttia -ohjelmassa ke 20.2. klo 20.00.

Progpower UK festivaali perutaan huonon lipunmyynnin takia.
Iso-Britanniassa 28.-29. päivä järjestettäväksi kaavailtu ProgPower UK (www.progpoweruk.com) on valitettavasti jouduttu perumaan, sillä lipunmyynti ei ole tapahtunut yhtä vilkkaasti kuin metallifestivaalia järjestävät organisaattorit olivat toivoneet. Festari oli tarkoitus järjestää Bristolin kaupungissa Anson Roomisin tiloissa, mutta nyt koko tapahtumakoneisto on laitettu jäihin. Tiedotteessa järjestäjät kertovat, etteivät he ole salailleet ProgPower UK:n taloudellisia ongelmia, joista se on kärsinyt parin ensimmäisen vuotensa ajan. Rahahuolten johdosta tämän vuoden festivaaliin tehtiin huomattavia muutoksia, mutta ne eivät ilmeisesti kehittäneet festivaalin “imua”, vaan päinvastoin.
