Roope Latvala is a Finnish guitarist renowned for his technical skill, speed, and influential role in the Nordic metal scene. Rising to prominence in the 1980s as a founding member of Stone, one of Finland’s pioneering thrash metal bands, he helped lay the groundwork for the country’s modern metal sound. Over the years, Latvala has been involved in numerous projects, most notably joining Children of Bodom in 2003, where his precision and melodic sensibility became a defining element of their music. Known for blending aggressive riffs with intricate harmonies, Latvala’s career reflects a dedication to pushing the boundaries of metal guitar playing.

ESP Custom Shop Roope Latvala RS-II Light Grey is a weapon built for uncompromising performance and jaw-dropping stage presence. Every detail reflects Latvala’s signature style — from the sleek "banana" headstock to the striking cross inlays, alternating upside down for that rebellious edge.

Crafted with an alder body and a 3-piece maple neck in neck-thru-body construction, this guitar delivers endless sustain and unmatched stability. The thin U contour neck paired with an ebony fingerboard and 24 extra-jumbo frets makes lightning-fast riffs and intricate solos effortless. Its Floyd Rose Original bridge and locking nut ensure flawless tuning stability even under the most extreme dive bombs, while Gotoh tuners add rock-solid reliability.

When Ibanez shocked the world and released the first 7-string electric guitar 30 years ago, little did anyone realize then just how much the instrument would change guitar-driven music forever. Korn were arguably the first musical act to take these instruments and realize their full sonic potential, shaping a sound that would be responsible for creating whole new movement in music.
