Moving to Helsinki next week

I'm not from Helsinki, but as those lazy fuckers don't bother answering, I'll give you a few possibilities. I don't know what you understand by hardcore, but from what I've heard, at least Töölö Gym and GB Gym ought to be pretty decent places for serious training. The latter is mainly a fight sports club, but includes a gym.

Then again, if you consider those too fancy, the gym at Kaapelitehdas (the old cable factory) might be the place for you.

Yes, there are some, such as BBC (only for men) in Vallila and Kisahalli in Töölö (very cheap, operated and equipped with tax money). Also Active (previously known as Mayor's) in Ruoholahti might still be good, at least it was a fine gym before. I do not know the current status of Active though. Some say it's still a quality gym, some say it isn't. Silver Gym in Kallio is also a good gym. There's also a quality gym in Pitäjänmäki, previously known as Metal Gym.

I'm sure the gyms mentioned by Shane are also very good. So many experienced trainers do their workouts at those locations and have recommended them that they should be good.

There are plenty of good gyms in Helsinki. :) It's best to choose one that's closest to your apartment so that you can focus more on training, not so much on travelling to the gym.

My training hovel is the former Metal Gym in Pitäjänmäki, now known as ********** Gym, arguably the top powerlifting gym in Helsinki. And the price is very reasonable.

A 10-star gym? Sounds pretty classy to me ;)

Also Iron Gym in the center of Helsinki is quite HC. I've only been there once and I thought it was small but had plenty of heavyduty equipments. Also not over populated. Fair price and nice environment.
