"anybody here from L A from back in the day, around '89-'93? If so, remember Dr. Jekot, over on Beverly and third?
You'd see everybody here, this was before the doc got fed time. Ledeilmeyer, the barbarians, Christian, DeMay, Hasselhoff, DiLette, Albrecht, everybody. Oh, and Vic. From personnally seeing him regularly there, and at Golds, when he wasn't on suspension(from the gym, not the test), I can tell you this: he was 5'9", at least 320@ no more than 8.5-9%, and yeah, I've seen him hit db presses with 160's for 15! The barbarians never even had to touch the weight. He hit every one of them! I can't say that I ever saw him overly "polite," but remember, he is Nigerian, both his parents are neurophysicians, and he did have an elitest attitude, which had more to do with his background than just size.
Bavk then when Golds was still Golds, there were a lot of big freaky guys and girls. Oh yeah, Vic did do and win the teen orange county, and went over to Nigeria to compete against the bean poles to get his "pro" card.
I'm jumping around, but some serious weight was moved in Golds then. There was this guy named Raoul Fulcher. He would do side lunges with (455) x20! a few sets, then the same standard style, etc.. like the weight was a joke. Hannie van aken and dorothy herndon were both really strong girls, achim was real ****in' strong. There'll never be a time like that again, man!! Can't forget Mike Christian, his delts were sick! The crazy thing about him, you wouldn't see him for awhile- I guess he'd be getting all cracked out, then he'd be back in the gym at like, 190. Then WHAM! 6wks later hes sick and veiny at 250, and you're like,"what the f*ck?!" One time, when he was training with my pal nico for a while, he hit (286), which he said was his all time off season heaviest. He was training arms next to Dilette, and let me tell you, he made Dilette look like his little student, no joke! He looked that sick, no synthol, just sick genetics and gassed to the gills!! Those were the days."
