Fedor Emelianenko

Joku aika sitten oli myynnissä niitä mustia t-paitoja, joissa oli kuva tuosta Fedorin paidasta siinä keskellä. Saa tulla aika kova vaparifani vastaan kaupungilla, että tajuaa sen läpän... :D

Saiskohan noita paitoja tilattua jostain?

Uutta haastatteluu Fedorista. Käännös on suoraa hurtan foorumilta.

Interviewer: Hello Fedor. Recently the Russian Sambo championships tooks place where you got first place. Do you think that the level of fighters is getting better in recent times?

Fedor: Significantly. Taking part has become a lot more interesting. New fighters are emerging that are talented, strong and young. The organisation as well – this championship took place at the highest level.

Interviewer: But the final fight was agreed?

Fedor: Yeah we had a chat and decided it would be best for me to take part in the World championships, because it is time we started thinking about me winding down and retiring – Alexander is younger than me by 5 years and for him everything is still in the future.

Interviewer: Where do you think it is more important for you to represent Russia – in MMA or in Sambo?

Fedor: I think MMA is more important. Why? Despite the fact that Sambo is my favourite style, it is still an amateur sport. In MMA I am not only representing Russia, but Sambo as well. In MMA you get fighters from different styles and from different countries – and everyone wants to prove that his style is best, or his school is best, and make use of all their skills. Here I believe Sambo is the most universally applicable style, expecially combat sambo and translates especially well to MMA. As a result I think it is a bit easier for Sambo fighters. But you must also learn techniques from other styles as well such as Muay Thai, Boxing and Jiu Jitsu. Of course our base is Sambo but we do have to learn other techniques as well.

Interviewer: When will your next MMA fight be?

Fedor: If God allows it then I will fight, but I don’t have any dates yet. I need some time to allow my injuries to heal. I had two fights and did not allow my injury to heal after the first fight before fighting again. And with all these stresses and strains as well as wanting to see my family because I travel a lot and they miss me and I miss them, and because of this I want to spend as much time as possible with my family, after this we shall see whats next.

Interviewer: Did you see your ex-opponent Dan Hendersons fight? People are saying it was one of the best fights in MMA.
Fedor: I heard alot about it but have not had a chance to yet, It just worked out that I was preparing myself and have not watched it. God willing, I will soon.
Interviewer: Tell me please, is it more difficult to prepare as a competitor or as an organizer/promoter?

Fedor: I don’t organize fights, I may have the role of a host though. All organizational issues rest with Vadim and his team. I personally have not had a role in organizing such tournaments, and Vadim is only using me as a host for now.

Interviewer: This New Year you spent in the ring, despite it being a family holiday, or is it more important to spend Xmas with your family?
Fedor: For me Xmas is more important. For us Orthodox Christians, the days after new year before Christmas we become more observant of (blah blah some religious nonsense). Of course New Year is important but I spoke to my wife and decided that I should prepare for the fight. Of course on the 1st I was back home and we met Christmas together with the family. (Please note Orthodox Christmas is on the 7th Jan)
Interviewer: How did you meet Christmas?

Fedor: Christmas? Well we go to church, you know its a day where you get filled with joy, not just corporeal joy, but spiritual as well. You get elevated spiritually. After the service we go home and congratulate each other. Of course we have a festive meal.
(it rambles on a while about getting baptised or holy water or something or other, cba to translate it, its drivel.)

Interviewer: There is some talk about recognising MMA as an official sport in the Russian Federation – do you think this is important in helping expand it’s popularity in the country?

Fedor: Yeah it would be great if our sport was recognized. MMA includes lots of different combat styles, and what is most interesting is this style of sport is universal. I think it would be the correct decision. The only thing is, like with any sport I think it needs a moral (code) and educate the youth that are participating in it. So not training a bunch of wankers but so that the person knows why they are doing it, and so they do not use their skills for violence in the street.

Interviewer: Have you thought about coaching once you finish competing?

Fedor: You know I always try to help the guys out in training and everyone who is on my team. Everything I know I try to pass on. As a result we have a few Wold Champion Sambo players, as well as good results in MMA – none look like phenoms yet, but we do have SAMBO champions. If I finish my fighting career, I will try to pass on everything I know.

Tilannepäivitys Vadimilta:

Fedor's next fight will be in the summer or in the fall, but not earlier. Psychologically, it was hard on him to have 2 fights in a row. Practically, he was not even home for 4 months, did not see family, so he needs to rest.

As of now, i don't know who will be Fedor's next fight, but he will be a respectable fighter. Many of the fighters, with whom we would like Fedor to fight, are locked inside UFC's cage.

In fact, I am not against Fedor competing in the UFC. Anyone can see that Fedor is back and can compete with anyone in the UFC.

Fedor's approach to training and diet has changed, and in general his approched changed towards things. When you are sitting in the same camp, you get used to things, e.g. you go to the same restaurant, get used to the same food.

Today, Fedor changed the environment, changed his approach to everything, began working with different experts, who tell him: "Look Fedor, do not eat this, eat that, etc". They advise him how to eat, and in what style to train. Fedor reset things and this can be seen by just looking at him. Nowadays, Fedor does not rush during the fight, as when you hurry -- you make mistakes.

Everything depends on Fedor, how much longer he will continue to fight. He does not drink, does not smoke and has a healthy way of life. But he doesn't need many fights, I think he needs about 2-3 fights per year. Work out, rest properly, then again do a training camp. He is not a young figher which could fight 4 times a year. 6 months from now seems to be a good timing for Fedor's next fight.

Huge news coming soon!!!

Niin, kai se vois olla?

Tietty ei voi sanoa haluaako Fedorin kämppi laittaa miestä sinne rekordiaan pilaamaan. :pano:

UFC olisi Fedorille oikea paikka.
