Some Quotes:

Return to MMA in 2015
“Yes, because I’m fighting Sakuraba now. I’m already in shape and then I have to fight Matt Hughes in September. I said “what am I going to do in the middle, die of boredom? No fucking way. Get me some opponents! (Laughs)”

“I’m going to be in shape now and what am I going to do, get out of shape and get back again? No. I’m going to try to find at least two matches in the middle, so (that) I can have my fun and keep my shape up so I can have a great match with my brother Matt Hughes.”

Fighting in the UFC and talking to Dana
“Yeah I’m going to look to go for the UFC. I’m going to sit down with those boys and have a talk you know? I had a chat with Dana and he said to me “Renzo why do you want to fight? I’ll give you a cheque for you not to fight”. I said to him “let’s be honest, I wanna fight for free.”

"We're gonna get together soon and see what we do. So If I'm feeling on the level, then I probably believe I can do good in there, for sure I'll be back in there. I have great training partners. I have Edson Barboza, I have Ricardo Almeida, Igor, Gregor. So if I'm traiing with those boys, you know I have my brother Frankie Edgar, I train with Chris Weidman, Matt Serra. So if I can hang around with those boys as well and I can keep myself alive, I believe I can keep myself alive with anybody in there."

"I'll be looking forward to training with my boys, and then if I can do well I'll be back in MMA for sure next year."

On coming back to fight at 155 when he returns
“Well actually I’m going to be looking at fighting at 155. Yeah because last time I was walking around at 168, so probably will jump in at 155.”
“I will ask them to match me with one of the 10 first ones. If they say the guys are too tough, I'll tell them to give them a warm up fight then. Give me to them as a warm up fight.”

On fighting Sakuraba at Metamoris compared to fighting him in an MMA fight
“What made him so efficient in MMA was his grappling game. He was never a great striker - but he could strike - but his main thing is his grappling, and that’s what I’m going to be facing. Actually I’m going to be facing the toughest part of Sakuraba. He’s known for having heavy hands, a beautiful Kimura coming from everywhere, great leg locks, so it’s going to be a challenge. It may be a bigger challenge than when I faced him in Pride, but I believe these 14 years taught me a lot and I’ll be ready to represent and see all the knowledge that I learnt over these 14 years.”

*BREAKING* Other former Roufusport members lash out against Duke Roufus - Sherdog Mixed Martial Arts Forums

Duke Roufus (mm. Askrenin ja Pettisten koutsi) on mm. aivan mulkku jätkä ja vissiin muutkin koutsit tai Scott Cushman ainakin.. mielenkiintoista settiä tulee noilta eri ottelijoilta. Tulevaisuudessa ehkis lisää tarinoita tippuu. Kuinkahan yleistä tämmöinen on ammattisaleilla? Ettei niinku mitään kunnioitusta järkeä välissä noissa touhuissa.

More details have come out surrounding Roufusport kickboxer Dennis Munson Jr., who collapsed on the canvas and died hours after making his debut appearance at Duke Roufus' American Fighting Championship promotion back in March. The Milwaukee Sentinel-Journal published an in-depth investigation on Munson's death and uncovered a string of critical errors made by fight officials as well as Munson's corner at this unsanctioned event.

This story sparked a slew of ex-Roufusport members to speak out against Roufus and members of his coaching staff, including TUF 20's Rose Namajunas and former UFC fighter Eric Schafer. Below are a select few who posted their training stories, which Namajunas shared via Twitter and Sqor:

Lastly, Schafer went as far as to call Roufus "a bully, a liar, and one of the worst people I've ever met" in a long rant on The Underground forum. Here's a snippet of what he had to say:

Duke Roufus is a bully, a liar, and one of the worst people I have ever met. I have never been in a more toxic environment than when I was the head grappling coach and fighter at the gym. I saw teammate after teammate getting treated like shit. Guys being told to beat up lower level guys that were just trying to help out, UFC fighters being told to beat up other UFC level fighters so they would not come back, verbal abuse, violence, guys getting lied to about fights, etc. I have messages and conversations with almost everyone of his fighters from my days there; from his UFC stars to his coaching staff about how much they were mistreated. I will not out them, but they know the truth. They can tell their tales if they want.

Roufusport is home to former Bellator champion and current ONE FC champion Ben Askren, as well as reigning UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis. As of this article's publish date neither one of them has made any comments regarding Roufus, his coaches, or the camp's general culture.

Bloody Elbow will provide more updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.

Crazy that I finally speak out against the people that are responsible for this tragedy and now other people are coming out too it's sad it takes someone's life to bring awareness. This is about one of them, coach Scott cushman on tuf who was in the corner of Dennis Munson.

Zuffa LLC, which owns the Ultimate Fighting Championship mixed martial arts league, may suffer a 40 percent drop in profit this year because of injuries and canceled bouts.

Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services issued the revised profit outlook and said it may lower Zuffa’s BB-minus corporate debt rating. S&P previously anticipated Zuffa’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization would fall 30 percent this year.

“A negative rating action could occur if we are not confident that Zuffa’s operations are recovering meaningfully by the first quarter of 2015,” S&P said today in a statement. Zuffa’s $535 million senior secured credit facility is rated BB.

The rules explained at the press conference today in Tokyo are that it will be partially MMA fighting, but without submissions. The matches will be held in an elevated flat circle, similar to sumo, with no ring or a cage. The fighting surface will be surrounded by water. One of the ways to win is to put your opponent off the surface and into the water. A fighter who goes into the water three times would lose the fight by TKO.

The complete rule set is not finalized. Other rules under discussion include allowing kicks and knees to the groin standing, but not on the ground. They are also considering allowing head-butts, and elbows on the ground (in Pride, they never allowed elbows on the ground).
