Behemoth starts working on new album! Nergal talks about his inspirations!

Behemoth has just finished the second leg of Polish "Demigod" tour. Here's a comment from Nergal:

"It was simply a blast. Touring with such a company and playing in front of packed venues was a perfect ending for this never ending tour. I loved the fact that we also finally played a decent crowd and a nice venue in our hometown. I'm sure that none everyone who saw us in action wasn't disappointed. We gave our very fuckin' best and it feels to good to see you guys gave so much inreturn! Moreover, sharing stage with Virgin Snatch, Hermh and Corruption was an awesome experience and the whole tour turned out to be a massive success."

"After few days off we are slowly moving on with the new stuff. It's all in the very early stages but the ideas are shaping up real fast. I've been thinking about this new concept for more than a year now and it's high time to get things revealed. There are some basic themes we put together before the last U.S. tour and it sounded massive. Last couple of days I've been jamming out some newest stuff and it's...just insane: heavy and epic. Some of the ideas are insanely fast and technical but we also started a slow, more epic one, which sounds amazing to me. Today we recorded one of these new tracks and...I'm blown away. There's definitely 100% Behemoth vibe in it: vital and evil but there's also something new and fresh in these tunes! I'm sure all those who loved "Demigod" will dig the new shit. I'll keep you posted!"

"My laptop is full of drafts tho no finished lyrics are ready yet. Last year I visited so many exotic places and it definitely had some strong impact on me, my views and this will be reflected in the lyrics for sure. In summer 2005 e.v. I took a trip to Kathmandu, in Nepal where I had time of my life. I went for a trek in the Himalaya mountains where my only company where books by Peter J. Carroll, Deepack Chopra and Carlos Castaneda...no music, no civilization, almost no people around (since it was a raining period in Nepal). I made lots of notes and comments. Wandering from temple to temple I got inspired by Khali cult which surprisingly is very active in this country. Khali temple is right in the centre of Kathamndu and people regularly make sacrifices and pray to this goddess of death and destruction. Among many weird places I visited, I attended a Tibetan mass in the "temple of monkeys" which was a very cathartic experience. Some of the mantras I recorded and don't be surprised when you hear some of this crazy shit in the background of the new songs, ha ha. Pretty much every other place I've been to lately, be it Israel (Jerusalem), Mexico (the pyramids) or Haga Sophia in Turkey made a strong impact on me and there's gonna be several relations to these subjects in my lyrics. Behemoth is going even more multi-cultural. Wait and be surprised...ha ha."

That's all we've heard from Nergal. We'll keep you posted if there's any fresh news coming!

Tätä odotetaan.

Toivotaan että saadaan Behemoth Suomeen.

Nergal described band's forthcoming album as being "insane, heavy and epic."

Nergal elaborates: "That's what it sounds like so far. I can't really say much until it's done, but we're working on the record. We have like almost six songs finished; four of them are crazy — just crazy. It's fast; it's technical; it's fuckin' catchy; it's everything, you know. It's heavy, more like mid-tempo, slow songs. I can't say yet, but it's going to be a crazy record — and hopefully the best one. But what else can I say at this stage — not much."

"Yeah, we are continuing where we stopped with 'Demigod'. And when that record ended we started from there; trying to move on and develop from there and just get better — and hopefully get better songs and everything. So let's see what happens. I'm pretty sure that this record is going to rock as fuck, and I'm pretty sure it's going to top 'Demigod'. We picked up a great producer to make the record. I'm not going to reveal any names yet because it's still under work. We are doing everything to top 'Demigod', to put out the best BEHEMOTH record. We can, you know. . . Actually, we picked the (tentative) title and it's 'The Apostasy'; it's the working title for this new record. . . We're going to start recording by the end of October and be ready by late February, and hopefully have the record ready by around May (2007). It takes ages to do records, and that's the way it has to be."

Innolla odottaen.

Tämä uutinen ei liity Behemothin uuteen albumiin mutta en viitsi tehdä tästä omaa threadiä.

Nergal on huutokauppaamassa seitsemänkielistä kitaraansa. Huutokauppa käydään täällä.

Nergal: "Since I moved to ESP guitars a while ago, I decided to sell some of the items I'm not using anymore. This guitar is in excellent condition. I used it in the studio when I was recording all the seven-string songs on 'Demigod' and it sounded great (check out 'The Reign ov Shemsu Hor', for instance!). It also served me well for the first half of the 'Demigod' world tour. This is a guitar with history; truly a deadly METAL weapon!"

Nergal: "We've never been in better shape as a band. We spent three months preparing to record this album with no breaks, rehearsing four to six hours a day. Inferno has just completed the drum tracks. I must say Inferno is really dedicated to the whole project. He's doing the most intense physical work in this band, and he's easily at the top of his game right now."

"I remember Inferno trying to nail one song several times, and none of the versions seemed to be good enough. Then he took another take, and it sounded pretty amazing. I told him we could leave it as it is, as it was already pretty good. But the question was if we want it pretty good, or if we want it amazing. His answer was immediate: 'Delete it. I can do it better; and he did just that."

Malta further states, "I've never seen this band that well-rehearsed and ready for the recording. Inferno finally is playing on his own drum kit (Spaun), which was tested live several times on the recent tour. He knows exactly what to get out of it."

Inferno also seems to be really happy with the results of his work. The whole drum session took about 10 days, in addition to a week of setting the right sounds and testing different microphones. Inferno says, "Before entering the studio, we pretty much had everything ready to go. There were no doubts whatsoever. I'm more than sure this is by far my best drum arrangements ever. This is my life's work."

This week, BEHEMOTH starts laying down guitar tracks. A video clip from "The Apostasy" drum recording sessions.

Nergal commented from the studio, "We are almost done recording all of the guitar tracks. It is taking us much longer than we had originally expected but 'The Apostasy' is technically the most demanding of all Behemoth albums thus far. We are extremely proud of what we’ve recorded and the sound is just devastating. This time I decided to use three different amps and record two guitars on each side. This way we make the guitar tone meatier and it also provides something more unique sound wise. Seth (guitars) and I are starting to record our lead parts now while Orion lays down his final bass tracks. I am so excited right now, but at the same time I have never been so stressed in my life. This album is my life now."

“Last week we had a special guest on the song ‘Inner Sanctum.’ This is the most creepy and evil sounding tune on 'The Apostasy' so far. However, I’m not going to reveal the name of the guest musician just yet because I do not want to ruin the surprise. All of the tracks should be completed over the next two weeks. After that I fly out to Uppsala, Sweden to being the mixing process with the acclaimed Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Dark Funeral, In Flames) at Dugout Studios. We had long discussion about the direction of the record and we definitely seem to be on the same page. I can’t wait till we start working on that.”

Nergal: "Finally I made it to Sweden. I know, we owe you the new video report and some news but lately things were just insane here and physically I wasn't able to deal with anything but recordings. Last few weeks I spent in the studio in Poland were nothing but constant struggle. Tracking down the record for three months straight (!!!) led us to the point where we no longer were able to judge the results objectively. Needless to say, it was me who fanatically tried to complete the recordings with the best possible result. It took me some time to realize that I could go on like this…forever. I'm happy I finally said STOP so we could move on. I still lack objectivism and all I have now is pure faith that THIS is so far the most completed record we've ever committed as a band. The performance on 'The Apostasy' is simply awesome and I have to say that we really outdone ourselves this time."

"Anyway, I'm here in up in the north of this beautiful country, in a little town Uppsala. Daniel is currently putting the final touches to drums. Earlier today we compared this to our last record 'Demigod'. And let me tell you something…we REALLY beat that record! Drums sound sooo tight and intense that's almost impossible to keep up tempo, ha ha. I already see these comments saying that's humanly impossible to play THAT fast and technical, ha ha. We are starting with guitars and bass tomorrow. Also today I managed to download guest vocals to the song called 'Inner Sanctum' but I'm not gonna reveal any names, yet. Sit tight and be surprised. Cross fingers my friends! I'll be back shortly with a longer update and hopefully some video footage from the studio!"

Jep, keikkapuolella onkin jo mainintaa Behemothin Suomen vierailusta. Uutta albumia odotellaan innolla.

Kuulin promoversion The Apostasy albumista ja täytyy sanoa ettei Behemoth pettänyt odotuksiani.

Pro-Pain suosittelee  .

Behemoth - Prometherion

Varmaan upein video graafisesti mitä olen metallissa koskaan nähnyt. Video on Prometheus-titaanin tarinaan perustuva, kuten biisikin siitä kielii, siitäkin plussaa. Hyvä etteivät tehneet perus-tylsää soittovideota jossain kellarissa. Hyvä tämä uusi lätty.
