"Breaking News - Formal Complaint Lodged with IFBB
Oct 12, 2005
I just got word that a formal complaint has been lodged with the IFBB on behalf of all Pro Women. The formal complaint sites specific sections of the IFBB's OWN DOCUMENTS, IFBB Rules and Code of Ethics they feel were violated when IFBB Mens Rep Bob Cicherello's deplorable and slanderous remarks relative to the Pro Women and the Women's side of the sport were published in his recent Flex Magazine interview.
Following the the official and published IFBB rules relative to lodging complaints and using the IFBB's Rules and Code of Ethics document, as a basis for the complaint, the Pro Women have exercised their rights pursuant to the IFBB Constitution Article 5.1, section 14 which states an object of the IFBB is to "dicipline members whos acts are judged contrary to the Constitution and Rules."
Specific areas sited as the basis for the complaint are:
Section 14.5 of the IFBB Professional Rules which states:
"If and athlete attacks another athlete, judge, of official whether verbally or through malicious innuendo, gossip and/or rumor mongering...
Article 14.5 - Unsportsman like Conduct: an athlete cannot attack another athlete, judge or official, whether verbally or through malicious innuendo, gossip, and/or rumor mongering.
Article 14.6 - Public comments (including, but not limited to, those made via print publications, websites, public gatherings, or other public forums) by registered IFBB athletes or officials made against other athletes or officials, the IFBB or the sport in general, which are deemed personal, abusive, slanderous, libelous, or prejudicial to the good image of the sport, are contray to the IFBB Code of Ethics, and will result in diciplinary measures being taken by the Pro Division against the person responsible for the comments.
Article 6 of the IFBB Constitution/Code of Ethics: "Athletes should assist the IFBB in the promotion of the sport by acting as a goodwill ambassador of the sport, promoting the sport in a positive manner and protecting the good image and integrity of the sport and the IFBB.
The complaint further request's that the Professional Division take action pursuant to Section 14.5 of the IFBB Professional Rules which States: If and athlete attacks another athlete, judge, of official whether verbally or through malicious innuendo, gossip and/or rumor mongering, that athlete will be subject to a fine of $10,000.00 and a one year suspension"
Well folks..there you have it...Bob has truly stepped on his d*ck on this one...let's see what kind of integrity the IFBB has and how it will act on it's OWN CONSTITUTION/RULES and CODE OF ETHICS!
It just goes to show....you should think before you speak...especially in public!
To ALL Pro women who participated in this practice in democracy....YOU GO GIRLS!!!"
