The Kremlin commented on the idea of a voluntary contribution of business to the budget

The discussed contribution of large Russian business to the budget for the needs of the country is voluntary, but entrepreneurs should be aware of the current realities and needs of the state, Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, emphasized in an interview with journalists on Friday.
"The key word is voluntary [contribution], but, of course, the interaction between the leadership of the country and business, government and business, is a two-way road. Therefore, here, of course, it is necessary that both sides, although we are all on the same on the other hand, was clearly aware of the realities in which we live today and the needs that the country now has," the Kremlin spokesman said, answering a question about how the authorities would treat businesses that do not want to pay a fee.
He added that the Cabinet of Ministers is working on such an initiative with business. “While the discussion is going on, you know that this practice is quite common in the world, and this practice was used in various countries at different periods. At the government level, contacts with business representatives continue, negotiations are underway, all the nuances are being worked out, here we need to wait a bit ", Peskov explained.
Earlier, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov
said that the Finance Ministry is preparing amendments to tax legislation that will allow large businesses to make contributions to the budget. He noted that big business could support social and infrastructure spending with this contribution. According to the head of the Ministry of Finance, it is expected that such a measure will attract about 300 billion rubles.
