Hi, We are looking for an au pair to come and stay in our family until September. Who we are We are a young informal French Finnish family with one 3 and a half year old little boy. We both work have tourism related jobs and therefore have very hectic and sometimes unpredictible schedules in the high season of the summer. We both speak English and French. What we are looking for A young (male or female) responsible person with a sociable pleasant personality to spend the summer with us and help us out with some childcare or simple household tasks whilst enjoying their time in France. We are looking for someone who is a self starter, who can handle a young child and who is willing to take part to the family life. The person should be a confident driver and a good swimmer English being the official language in our household, fluency in that language is important, however, French, Spanish, Italian or Finnish speakers are also a possibility. Duties Our son goes to a local kindergarten monday to friday so we mainly need support during the week end, bank holidays and some evenings.You will occasionally have to take him or collect him from the kindergarten. During the kindergarten days you will have plenty of time off to discover the area, in those days I might give you a small task to do (shop food, hang some laundry out, tidy up a bit) but it won't be more than an hour. You will be required to spend some time with our son during the week end when we are working, this means, playing, taking him out for walks, watch him when he plays at home or in the garden, take him to the beach...read books etc. You are free to create your own activities if there is something you particularly like doing It can be ball games, drawing, dancing, cooking... or whatever if a suitable activity for a child his age. When we are not here at meal times you will be required to prepare his meals and supervise him at the table. There is no heavy housekeeping involved but we would like the person to chip in with the normal day to day stuff such as laying the table, emptying the dishwasher, maybe help me in the kitchen if you're keen, the occasional vaccum clean. I may ask you to go food shopping once in a while. What we offer The successful applicant will have a bedroom and a bathroom within our house. We are in a truly lovely location with lots of nice beaches around us ! We will cover all your food costs, and you are welcome to join us when we go to restaurants/beach clubs...etc. Provided you don't exclusively eat caviar and wash exclusively in Chanel toiletries you are welcome to throw whatever you need in the shopping trolley. We will also supply you with your own car ( it is an old banger...but it works well!) and will cover your petrol costs If you are coming from abroad we will pay for your flights within Europe. We will give you weekly pocket money for your own leisure time. This is for immediate start as the au pair we had chosen has had to go home unexpectedly
