Megadethin tuleva albumi on nimeltään United Abominations. Albumille tulee 11 biisiä, mm. Washington's Next ja Gears Of War.

Shawn Drover: "It's a really diverse record. There's some faster stuff that should appeal to the band's thrash fans and it's got a little more mainstream stuff as well. It's definitely not one-dimensional."

Mä en ole seurannut yhtään mitä Dave duunailee, mutta nyt aloin innolla taas odottaa maailman tärkeimmän metallibändin uutukaista.
 
Mustaine: "We're putting the finishing touches on it. We've got a little more work before it's finished, but it should be out some time next year."

The singer/guitarist says the album, which he's producing with Jeff Balding, "has a lot of variation on it. It's got some surprises, but there's a really old-school vein to it, I would say." The group has been careful not to rush the album, either, holding sessions in London, Los Angeles and Nashville since earlier this year.

"We're taking our time with this one," Mustaine says. "It's a great feeling to make a record and not have our feet held to the fire. One of my heroes growing up was KISS, but they really frustrated me 'cause they would put out a record just about every year. I couldn't figure that out. I pretty much have a cycle of about 18 months to 24 months between records. I just can't put them out any quicker than that and feel comfortable about them."

Less than five miles from Ground Zero sits an international hotbed, the United "Abominations" as it were. Created to prevent wars and promote peace, it failed to address the most dangerous threats facing the world.

In a mire of hypocrisy, bribes, kickbacks, and corruption, the U.N. enables terrorism, and ignores sex crimes by its peacekeepers. The U.N. is where our so-called allies undermine us, and we pay 22% of their tab to host our enemies here at home.

Ambassadors from dirt-poor countries enjoy luxurious, tax-free Manhattan lifestyles, turning children into sex-slaves and enjoy Diplomatic immunity. It's a complete and utter disgrace, a blot on the face of humanity, and they get away with it.

Poverty in their kitchens
Held hostage by oil-for-food
Yet their own plates are full off the fat of their lands
There's no blood on their hands, right Kojo?
They promised to tell the truth
Without leaving a fingerprint, but
They will lose the U.N. one way or another

NATO invaded Yugoslavia to end ethnic cleansing, there was no U.N.

Saddam Hussein violated 17 U.N. resolutions; The U.N. was asked to join the war in Iraq. The U.S. invaded, Ha! there was no U.N.
Libya bombed a discotheque in Berlin killing Americans, there was no U.N.
Iran funds any terrorist organization it can, and attacked the U.S. in the seventies, there was no stinking U.N.
Facing War without end, looking into the future, there was no more U.N.

Minkä tuosta Washington is Next - vedosta selvän sai, niin ihan ok kamaa tuntuu taas pukkaavan. Jotenkin vain oli semmoinen tunne, että tämä on kuultu ennenkin. No, Mustaine on minun idoli numero kaksi ollut aina (Udo:n jälkeen), joten eiköhän sieltä ihan tykkilevy tule.

Megadeth on ollut poliittinen bändi koko olemassaolonsa ajan, niin eipä tuo mikään ihme ole, että aiheesta mitkä jenkeissä on pinnalla, ovat mustainen käsittelyssä... Hyvältähän tuo kuulostaa. Edellinen System Has Failed levy oli parasta Megadethia pitkään aikaan.
 
Dave Mustaine: "So, yes the May 8th date is finally confirmed [for the new MEGADETH album, 'United Abominations'] now that the mix is nearly done. I hate saying when release dates are, because sometimes they change, and you have to deal with naysayers who behave like the ultimate inch of colon, but I would rather this record was finished to my standards, and above (which it is . . . about time, I know) then put out a soft record."

"Metal needs a really good old-school record again. I believe I have delivered. It ain't 'Rust in Peace 2', but it could be the record that makes me forget about everything in between."
