This was a letter sent to paul borreson of biohazard from Giles Thomas of Muscle News
Bad things happen to all of us in life, some things happen for a reason and sometimes through a lot of
soul searching we can sometimes be lucky enough to learn from our experiences and turn them into a
positive one. Then sadley, there are other times we scratch our heads and simply wonder whether we`ve
just imagined the whole thing.
Friday the 18th of June at approximately 4.00pm was one of those days.
LET ME GIVE YOU SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION.
Naeem Qureshi
As you may or may not know, totally separate from my involvement with Bio-Hazard and the Governor, I
work with Naeem Qureshi at Olympian Dristribution and Muscle News, which runs the Olympian store and
is next door to the central headquarters for the British distribution of Met-Rx and other supplements. It has
been a pleasure to work alongside Naeem, truly one of the hardest working, highly self-motivated, most
sincere people I`ve ever met. He`s more than a boss, he`s also my training partner and a friend. Sure we
argue sometimes, some days I want to strangle him, but when it comes down to it, I respect him as a
businessman and as a person, end of story.
Role Model
The primary reason for my move from Wales to London was to increase my work for Muscle News and
have a chance to be right in the thick of it as regards to the bodybuilding scene which where my biggest
passion lies and most importantly where I feel I can contribute something constructive to the sport.
As you may of read in Muscle News, Dorian Yates 6 times Mr Olympia is a 50, 50 partner in the
company. Wow Dorian , yes thats right my all time favourite bodybuilder. The man`s who career I`ve
followed right from when he made his auspicious debut at the Night Of The Champions in 1990 and
went on to take the sport of bodybuilding skyrocketing to the next level of bodybuilding excellence. I
read everything on Dorian, framed his autograph, travelled hundreds of miles just to see the man in the
flesh , to shake his hand and have my own precious personal story to tell of the day when I met
Dorian Yates, Mr Olympia, the greatest man in the greatest sport.
What an honour, very much my idol.
We all buy the magazines, we all listen to what the main men have to say, hangin over there every word, im quite sure that if kevin levrone or flex wheeler told everyone that it was down to eating dogshit that has made them so massive, then everyone would be running the streets with a pooper scooper.
So where is all this leading?
Picture this
Im sat downstairs office situated in the olmpian store. Two men walk into the shop and i greet them which they then ignore me which i found quite rude. One of whom was an ex gladiator who i was later told. They walk around the shop and then leave.
20 minutes later i get a phone call from Naeem on this mobile.
Naeem- Giles u okay?
Giles- Yeah..why?
Naeem- Right lock up the shop and call the police, get upstairs and make sure they dont take any stock
Giles- Who?
Naeem- Dorian, i dont know who else...i'll be there in 5 minutes
Pretty confused I went upstairs wondering what the hell as going on. Dorian was only down last week,
he never comes down that oftern, especially unannounce!
In the warehouse was Dorian with several men, I said hello, but got a pretty cold response. I then went
up into the upstairs office where I found Debbie Yates and Ernie Taylor. Debbie was emptying
Naeem`s filing cabinet into boxes. Personal files, Olympian files, even files unrelating to Olympian. he
didn`t acknowledge my presence but I`ve gotten used to that from Debbie , despite that I`ve always
been nohing but polite to her. Ernie, however just glared at me, he was on Naeem`s laptop standing
infront of his desk going through all his personal files. Behind him was Naeem`s partner from the shop
the Olympian offices and above. Gary is a short middle aged, polite chap that poses no threat to
anyone. He did not look happy and seemed pretty shaken. I was later told that Gary he first say
Dorian downstairs and was assured by Dorian that nothing was going to be touched and nothing was
going to be moved. Gary then went upstairs a cople of minutes later and then found Ernie and Debbie
literally ransacking the place. Quite suprised, especially after Dorian`s promised moments earlier, he
told Debbie that some of the files were to do with his business and nothing to do with Olympian. Ernie
told him to shut up and then said and I quote,"shut up you fat c##t" To which Gary replied "well
there`s nothing wrong with your eyesight is there?"
All in the man`s own office.
As soon as I saw Ernie, I knew this was no friendly visit as Ernie and Naeem had a fall out a couple of
years ago when Naeem was sponsoring Ernie. I wasn`t around then and I don`t quite know all the
details why, but what I do know is that there is definitely no love lost between them. I also wondered
why they had brought so many people, themost amount of people at the office at any one time is
going to be myself and Naeem. I`ve always gotten on with Ernie, we`ve spoken a couple of times and
always found him to be a pretty nice bloke and I`ve given him some nice writeups and deservedly so,
he`s a great bodybuilder, so for him to give me the evil eye, I knew something was up.
I went back downstairs, my new white undies now decorated with a nice scented brown stripe and my
heart banging as if I`ve just has 40 ephedrine. I rang Naeem on my mobile and informed him of the
situation, by the time he had called for more than just two police, more like 6 or 7. As Naeem is an ex-
policeman he knows the procedure and whether or not any laws are being broken or no.
I personally felt powerless and I`ll admit to feeling throughly intimidated. Im no coward and certainly no
wimp but you know when you are unable to intervene. They might as well have been extremely nice to
me, I couldn`t have stopped them, but instead they weren`t.
Two minutes later, several police arrived as did Naeem and his girlfriend only then I felt comfortable
enough to go upstairs.
A lot of shouting followed, Ernie sat on a case of Met-Rx smiling, seeming quite amused by the whole
situation. Naeem was extremely upset saying to the police that apart from Dorian, everyone else were
trespassing. I walked over to Ernie and to lighten the mood even joked , Well now you`re here I might as
well do an interview. No response. I then went upstares with Naeem`s girlfriend into the offic. The laptop
as well as all the files were missing, the desk was empty.
Discarded files and papers littered the desks and floor.
She lost her temper realising that some of her personal files had been taken as well.
All I could hear was Debbie shouting what she thought her rights were, police trying to calm the situation
down trying to work out what the hell they had just walked into, and Dorien and his merry bunch.
Silence, not a word. I think Ernie was laughing and even shouting Booyaka whatever that means.
Naeem`s girlfriend shouted where is Naeem`s laptop, they`ve taken it! Apparently it was under the desk
out of view which it was.
Ernie then sareastically announced that the files were on the motorway on there way upto Birmingham, a
lot of shouting, even Dorian apologised then Ernie said "shut up you stupid b***h" to Naeem`s girlfriend,
Naeem lost his temper and understandably so and shouted at Ernie. Ernie leapt up and went for Naeem,
threatening to remove his kneecaps, without anaesthetic I assume, then sareing on his mothers grave
that he was going to kill Naeem. All five of the Police went a nice shade of white and restrained Ernie
whilst also being threatened saying "I`ll take you all one by one" The srgeant replied, I`m sure you can.
If you want proof ring up a PC Williams from Hayes station. Dorian and Debbie just stood ther, well
Debie was actually sat down. Then Naeem`s girlfriend defending Naeem went for Ernie, a very brave
woman indeed. Ernie then raised his left fist to her face and only then did Dorian who coldn`t have been
stood more than a foot away during all of this intervened and sai, Ernie, this is not what I want, leave it,
go downstairs and calm down. Ernie left as ordered shouting threats as he left, then Debbie say`s "that
woman`s neurotic".
Excuse me ?
What do you expect, her partner is being lunged at by a monsterious, imposing Ernie Taylor that was
actually with Debbie and was in a very aggressive manner, she was only trying to defend him, I don`t
call that neurotic, I call that honourable and you can hardly blame someone for being protective even If
you are hopelessly outmatched.
It all ended up with files having to be returned, no stock being removed, although a full stock take had
to be done by myself and Debbie`s brother`s girlfriend who like me, would much of rather been
somewhere else.
Kosovo perhaps.
Dorian, after apologiseing to Naeem and his girlfriend came up to me and said, "Well Giles, there`s a
bit of drama for you". Dorian tell me, do you honestly think that brining Ernie Taylor was such a smart
idea? In retrospect Giles, no don`t. So why did you bring him then ? I asked. Silence. Idon`t believe
Dorian to be that naive. I`ve always been lead to believe that he is a very intelligent, articulate man.
Draw your own conclusion on that one.
I later asked when this little trip was planned, i was told "late last night" and then i asked, "so whos idea was it to bring ernie"? Well it was his idea to get the van". Hang on , if they came down with the intention to remove about £100,000 worth of stock, would they really have been able to fit it in a couple of cars along with a few people?
I think not
This all leads to one thing. What now?
Well as far as i know ernie is not been charged been Naeem but if it was me i would not hesitate.
Its sad to see two of the UK's top athletes in this kind of situation.
All I can say to resolve the peace is if any of those involved are man enough to apoligise or even offer
any form of logical explanation, I don`t know, maybe I`ve missed something very important here. If they
did then I would take my hat off to them and would happily let everyone know that this stupid,
unfortunate situation was just that. We all make mistakes, we have all made misjudgement it`s just
that I would want nothing more for everyone to resolve this personally and quietly settle their differences
and each to go their own way. The reason that Dorian gave for brining so many people was to help him
move the stock.
Whatever you say.
This isn`t the wild west, there is no shooting at ten paces, no fight on the death, threats and
intimidation solves nothing. No-one stands to benefit from this disput, all that will happen is that a sport
that is small enough negativity coming from the general public for us to start fighting with each other.
One person who I really respect is Shaun Davies. You may of read that article about that little
altercation in Muscle News that Shaun and Naeem had. Naeem responded with a pretty harsh attack
on Shaun`s behavour. But just days afterwards Shaun faxed apologising and I was right next to Naeem
when they both shook hands and buried the hatchet, laughing and joking, both agreeing that there was
no hard feelings like civilised humon beings. That`s what I call a professional.
Let`s just hope that we can all bury the hatchet, and I don`t mean in each others head.

I feel that it is important for all to know that giles was not paid by biohazard or even asked to
write this article, he and Naeem requested that this article be put in the Governor and the
website. Naeem has been a trusted associate and business partner of Dorians for many
years. Apparently Dorian felt that Naeem should take on Kerry Kays as his partner too so
Kerry and Dorian would have access to a popular print magazine in which they could attack
me and Biohazard.
Naeem stood up for himself and has always been his own man. Solid as the day is long, they
do not come any more honorable than Naeem. Regardless of what has gone on between
myself, Kerry and Dorian, Naeem has always been fair and never engaged in childish mud-
slinging or propaganda promoting.
Dorian was a man that everyone use to look up to including myself.
This behavior is disgraceful and the hardcore community will not sit on it`s hands while you
go about trying to bully people to get your way. This is the last act of a once great and now
tragically desperate man.
The Brotherhood Of Iron was formed to crush people like Mr. Yates for these exact tactics.
We are on the verge of the next generation of bodybuilding.......they are two great men who
do nothing but give the sport of bodybuilding a bad name.
